The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) urges the public to be vigilant against financial scams and fraudulent individuals falsely claiming to act on behalf of CIMA.
CIMA will never collect fees, taxes or any payments from the public through unsolicited phone calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, or SMS nor do we assist with the recovery of crypto scams, asset recovery, or any financial transactions, including the collection and transfer of crypto assets. Any such requests should be treated as fraudulent.
If you receive any communication from someone purporting to be from CIMA, report it immediately to abuse@cima.ky.
Additionally, we strongly advise caution when dealing with unfamiliar or unverified financial institutions. If you suspect fraudulent activity or believe you have encountered a scam, report it to your local law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
