Senior Policy & Development Officer



Reporting to the Chief Policy & Development Officer, the Senior Policy & Development Officer is responsible for conducting research, information gathering and report writing to ensure that the functions of the Division are carried out efficiently and effectively in all aspects, and that CIMA’s policies and procedures are adequate and current.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:
• Research, collect, and organize relevant data or information to ensure research and policy documents are accurate and up-to-date;
• Research and apply international standards to develop CIMA’s rules, statements of guidance and other regulatory instruments; 
• Research and draft summary reports on international economic and regulatory developments impacting financial services and the Cayman Islands;
• Process policy information and produce reports to assist in the preparation of regulatory measures on various matters; 
• Develop policy amendments through comparative analysis of information collected from various sectors and jurisdictions;
• Review CIMA’s website information and facilitate the uploading of information or analytical results;
• Answer queries and surveys from international organizations; and 
• Monitor international regulatory news, industry updates and industry updates for changes that may impact the Cayman regulatory environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a finance related field, i.e. Economics, Business Studies; and three (3) years of relevant experience in financial regulation, policy analysis or law.
• Sound analytical and project management skills to analyse the implications of policy developments and amendments;
• Knowledge of financial regulation and international best practices in financial regulation; 
• Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; and 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of the international and domestic regulatory framework for financial services would be advantageous.
