Reporting to the Deputy Head - Development, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for business analysis, user training and support; the analysis, design, development and implementation of bespoke applications, as well as the modification, enhancement and support of existing applications and commercial packages. Also essential to this position is proven experience and strong knowledge of software testing and quality assurance. The Senior Business Analyst will prepare testing documentation, meticulously execute the tests and document the results. They will provide critical feedback on software usability and functionality, contributing to the overall quality and user experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Analyze business requirements to design, develop, implement and maintain new and existing software systems;
• Verify that software meets all specifications and requirements through various testing methods and tools.
• Identify and report bugs and defects in software to ensure its functionality and reliability.
• Write and test effective program codes and produce and maintain software to the divisional standards;
• Work with other divisions to produce reports to support existing and new reporting requirements
• Make suggestions on data capture and format to support reporting needs;
• Conduct software and system analysis and prepare development life cycles for various projects;
• Prepare timely and appropriate Project Documentation detailing tasks and milestones to ensure compliance to divisional standards;
• Provide on-going technical and end-user support for both custom-built and purchased software systems;
• Draft useful training or procedural manuals; and
• Participate in effective technical training sessions to end-users to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A professional degree in Information Systems; and seven (7) years of experience working as a Systems Business Analyst within a corporate environment, or two (2) years working as a Senior Business Analyst.
• Knowledge of Programming and Database Design concepts;
• Knowledge of Software Development and Records Management;
• Knowledge of analytical and design methodologies;
• Proven experience in Software Testing;
• Training or knowledge in the following disciplines
o Enterprise Content Management Systems, Document Management, and Archiving;
o Microsoft SharePoint;
o SQL Server- current versions;
o Business Analysis methodologies and structures;
o Microsoft Office tools;
o Object-Oriented programming concepts;
o Microsoft Project
