Sanctions Orders

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority recently updated the list of international Sanctions Orders applicable in the Cayman Islands. This list is located under the AML/CFT page of CIMA’s website, under the subheading “UN & EU Sanctions”. The link to the list of sanctions, issued as an Adobe Acrobat document, is located under the heading “List of sanctions applicable in the Cayman Islands”. 

The Authority will update the sanctions document every six months. The Gazette notice for those Orders that are extended to the Cayman Islands between the scheduled updates will be posted when received by CIMA on its website under “General Notices”. The Authority does not guarantee that the Sanctions Orders list is accurate, complete and up to date. 

It is the responsibility of every Financial Services Provider to keep itself updated and to comply with the sanctions in force in the Cayman Islands. Official sanctions orders applicable in the Cayman Islands are published in the Cayman Islands Gazette and copies can be obtained from the Gazette Office (http://www.gazettes.gov.ky/).
