Freedom of Information
As a public authority, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) is fully committed to the objectives of the Freedom of Information Act, openness, transparency and accountability and greater public participation in decision making.
The law does not cover any records and information protected by Section 50 of the Monetary Authority Act.
A FOI request must:
i. be in writing
ii. include your name and address
iii. where possible, include a contact telephone number
iv. specify as clearly as possible the information being sought (include dates and other useful reference details)

Before submitting a FOI request, please verify whether the information you are seeking is already publicly available on our website.
Response to a FOI Request
All public authorities are required to respond within 30 calendar days and will advise in writing whether an extension is required to process the request.
All requests must be submitted to our FOI Manager via email or post.
