In 1992 the Currency Board issued a $1 silver coin commemorating "Discoveries of the World". The coin features the first recorded Englishman to visit the Cayman Islands, "Sir Francis Drake", together with the Coat of Arms he was granted in 1581. Below the Arms is the inscription SIC PARVIS MAGNA meaning "Great achievements from small beginnings".
