70th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (Silver)
The Cayman Islands Currency Board issued a limited number of silver proof $5 coins to commemorate the 70th Birthday of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty was born on 26th April 1926. Ten years later she became Heir Presumptive and in February 1952 she acceded to the throne as Queen Elizabeth II, on the death of her father King George VI.
The coin, modelled by Royal Mint engraver Norman Sillman, features the Queen on horseback participating in Trooping the Colour, a colourful and historic parade which takes place each June.
